Hi everybody,
I have a WebHelp project. When I open the generated online help file (the start htm-File) I see the online help leaving a 10MB footprint in my PC memory (I am using Process Explorer).
When I navigate the TOC I realize, there is no page loading going on (within the frameset).
I think, the online help loads all htm-Files (+ JS + CSS) at the beginning and that is what I see in the memory usage.
Is there a way to tell Flare to stop loading everything at the beginning? I would like to load content-files only after a click on a link (in the TOC for example).
Cheers.

Re: WebHelp Memory Footprint
I don't think that's Flare specific, I think it's just the way browsers work.
Assuming your topics are all using the same js and css files, those will be referenced by the start page and loaded. Same goes for anything in the skin and master page.
Also, the browser itself has a certain memory footprint. To get a fair comparison, you may want to look at how much memory it uses when you just open it without loading any pages at all (for example, you should be able to open it to your c drive, which should be minimal as far as html content goes).

Until next time....

Re: WebHelp Memory Footprint
Kevin is correct, its really just the browser and not webhelp that takes up the memory,
