Table Style Editor Preview Bug?

Post by beelia »

Does the Table Editor Preview have a bug?

1. Go to Project | Add Table Style.
2. Use any template, Factory or My Templates.
3. Name the table, say "Noseparators".
3. In Table Editor, define as follows:

Rows: Separator = none.
Columns: Separator = none.
Header: Separator = none.
Footer: Separator = none.

As you do these operations, note that the Preview gradually eliminates all separators,

4. Cick OK.
5. Open a topic.
6. Insert table and select your Noseparators table.

Despite the Table Editor preview, the inserted table still has separators.

Note: I'm not saying you can't get a table without separators. If you have created a td cell class with no borders, you can right-click all the cells, click Cell Content Style, and apply that cell class to get your no borders style. (Thanks, Ryan.)

The question is - why does the Table Editor Preview show that borders are being eliminated, but they actually are not? Is this a bug?

I'm not sure I understand. I repeated your steps and the table only had outer borders, (which are defined on the General tab). Is that what you are referring to?

Or are you talking about cell spacing? The Flare XML Editor will show cell spacing by showing a light line around the cells, but they don't appear in the Preview or output.
