Possible to get Adobe Reader to hide bookmarks panel?

Post by ccardimon »

Or this dependent on the individual installation of Reader?

If you have Adobe Acrobat, you can set the initial view of a PDF to hide the bookmarks panel. File > Properties > Initial View > Navigation tab: Page Only

Unfortunately you can only hide the bookmarks panel if you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat, open the PDF file, set the page view to page only (instead of page and bookmarks), and resave the PDF. There have been requests to extend the configuration options for PDF output from within Flare, but make sure you add your vote for that capability by submitting a feature request at http://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx.

The more people who request a feature, the more likely and sooner the feature will be implemented.

I sent our concern as an enhancement request, and received this reply:

"This will be addressed in the next version of Flare V5."

Yes that is good news
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release

Excellent. Thanks for pointing us toward this screenshot. Looks like some of the enhancements that we argued for (regarding PDF output options) will likely be happening.
