Adjusting the shading of conditional text?

Post by royj »

Is there any way to adjust the shading of the conditional tag indicators (in the XML editor)? I can make them show up a bit better if I tweak the brightness and contrast settings on my monitor, but they're still pretty faint.

You can select different colors for the conditional tags, so if the pure red which results in pink is too light, you can change that to a deep/dark red which will result in a darker shade of pink in the XML Editor. On the flip side, if you do dark shades for all the conditional tags and apply the tags at the topic level, then the colors in the blocks next to the topic filename in the Content Explorer might be harder to differentiate. Dark red doesn't appear that much different from dark blue in the Content Explorer, but you will be able to distinguish them in the XML Editor.

I suggest submitting a feature request at http://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx asking for the ability to raise/lower the transparency level of conditional tags in the XML Editor (which would leave the Content Explorer squares showing the pure color).

That's the sort of adjustment I'm looking for. Heck, if I had to go into an INI or CSS somewhere in the guts of Flare to accomplish this, I would.

I did a quick look through the Flare program files but nothing jumped out to me. You could contact Support directly and see if they could tell you which file to modify. Make a backup of the original file, though, just to be on the safe side.
