Flare stops responding after using LeftArrow at start of doc

It took me a few occurrences to realise what the problem is, but MadCap Flare stops responding (it hangs) when I use the LEFT ARROW key at the start of a document.

To reproduce:
1. Open a Flare Snippet (.flsnp) file in Flare's WYiWYG editor. (It seems to be labelled the "XML editor".)
2. Ensure the topic has nested drop-down text. (I don't know whether this is related)
3. Put the cursor at the start (top) of the document.
4. Press LEFT ARROW repeatedly.

You may ask: why am I pressing the LEFT ARROW key at the start of the document? I'm trying to insert a blank line, and I've learned that, in this program, you must move the cursor to the correct side of invisible pairs of tags. My first line often begins with drop-down text. At the beginning of the document, to insert a blank line BEFORE the drop-down text, I must press the LEFT ARROW key -- I tpyically do so a half-dozen times to make sure the insertion point is REALLY at the start of the document. Well, it turns out that may be why Flare is crashing.

A general gripe about the interaction design of basic editing functions: In the current century, I haven't seen a program that is SO disrespectful of its users by forcing them to learn bizarre work-arounds and that always fight-fight-fights the user during such interaction basics as selecting text, moving the cursor, or deleting text by pressing DELETE.
