Bug in ListOfProxy Flare 5.0

Post by helen »

Good morning

Can anyone else verify this or am I going mad? I have a page for my Table of Figures. In there I have a List Of Proxy which says use "TableOfFiguresEntries" as the stylesheet class for each generated entry.

I have both my TOF & CSS in a Master Project and I pull them in as required. I noticed when I generated the Install Guide as a PDF that my TOF had suddenly expanded and there were gaps between each generated entry. Strange I though - I don't recall it doing that before.

I spent a while fiddling with the master project and ensuring that the Install project was pulling the CSS in correctly - it was, yet when I published, everything got ignored.

I have just tested the same master project and Install project in 4.2 and it works as expected, and it isn't ignoring the class I have defined for each generated entry.

So I don't *think* I'm going mad - but if anyone else is using a Master Project, a Slave Project and has a List of Proxy - can they shed any light of this.... I'm also contacting support right now. :madcap:

Hi Helen,

I can confirm what you're seeing. I too have a Master Project, Slave Project, a List of Figures and List of Tables, and am outputting to PDF.

In V5, the List of Figures and List of Tables are not being rendered properly when I output to PDF. The styles I've set up for them do indeed appear to be ignored. In my case, not only do I see "extra space" between entries, but the wrong font entirely is being used. They seem to be using the font and spacing used for the plain old <p> tag.

In V4.2, the List of Figures and List of Tables render perfectly.

So, I concur... there seems to be a bug. You are not "mad"!

Ah yes - you're correct, it is indeed using the good old fashioned p tag. Thanks Nita! Please do add your voice to the bug report so it gets fixed nice and soon. It's a bit of a show stopper - I can't use V5 for publishing any of my PFD tagerts that contain a "list of" proxy.

Helen and Nita are old hands at this, but for anyone else who might be having this issue, you can submit a bug report here:

http://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx

It's best to submit a report even if you know someone else has, because a) the more people who report something the higher Madcap prioritizes it, and b) it's possible you have some additional information that others haven't reported that may help Madcap solve the problem quicker.
Until next time....

For those that find this after a search... Madcap have confirmed this as a bug. So if you're publishing to PDF and using the List of Proxy - you may want to check your output carefully.

Back to 4.2 I go. :(
