Hey guys
I want to replace a product name with a variable in a few hundred files, but most of the files have been sent to Localization already, so I need to track which files I am updating with the variable. So I thought I'd just print out my Find in Files results, which lists all the files I need to change. But I can't figure out how to print or even simply save the results.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Jenny.

Re: Printing the results of Find in Files
This is not a plug, but have you tried MadCap Analyzer. There is a specific feature in there to do exactly what you want automatically.
If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release

Thanks - yes I can use Analyzer to give me a list of files that contain my variable. It's not quite what I wanted, but OK.

I've submitted a feature request something along these lines with the ability to export the results to a text file or to a report in the past. perhaps you could add your voice to it.jwatson wrote:Thanks - yes I can use Analyzer to give me a list of files that contain my variable. Good idea - have done that. Thanks for putting the link in your signature - very handy!forfear wrote:I've submitted a feature request something along these lines with the ability to export the results to a text file or to a report in the past. perhaps you could add your voice to it.
