HI,
Has anyone tried to impot a project from RoboHelp 7 to Flare version 4 or 5? I have tried this and I'm having a problem with script errors at every popup, dropdown, or hyperlink when I open the topics in compiled help. Is anyone else having this problem? I get the same problem in both versions of Flare. We did not have this problem importing from earlier version of RoboHelp.
Thanks...

Are you importing the HTML Files? Or the HHP/XPJ? there should be not script errors if you are importing the XPJ Files...

This project was imported as an .xjp. It was not imported as individual htm files. I agree there should be no script errors. However, I get a script error on every drop down, expanded text, and hyperlink.

DO you get those same errors if you generate a Robohelp project? I am wondering if Robohelp messed with the conversion, and Flare is just working with messed up files...

No, I do not get the errors in RH. One of my colleagues submitted this to Madcap and they are able to reproduce the problem. So, looks like I'll have to wait for them to fix it and work with the RH project until they do. Doesn't make me happy but I have no choice.

Has anyone heard of a solution to this problem? I'm experiencing the same thing.
So far, EVERY topic that contains a script imported from RH7 launches the debugger when I try to view the topic in Flare's XML editor. And I'm running v6.

Re: Importing project to Flare from RoboHelp 7
I have the same issue in v 6 as well. I don't have a solution but I I have a work around that is not too difficult or time consuming. I got some expressions from Madcap that remove the code causing the errors. Use the Find And Replace, search for each of the three strings, and replace them with nothing, using regular expressions in the search. I put these expressions in the Find what: field, leave the Replace with: field blank. Under options, Find in: whole project, File types: topics, clear Match case and select Use: Regular Expressions and Find in source code. Then click Start and Replace in All Files.

Also, some of these have a capital A in ('A..') in addition some of

Re: Importing project to Flare from RoboHelp 7
Thanks for your speedy response. But, my search doesn't appear to be finding these expressions. Should I be including all of the symbols, exactly as you've written them?
Re: Importing project to Flare from RoboHelp 7
That's what I did. You can copy and paste it as written to the Find what field.

Re: Importing project to Flare from RoboHelp 7
Yes, I've seen these script errors too. From my perspective, they were legacy RH scripts that were no longer needed, once I had imported to Flare. My solution was to delete the scripts wherever they appeared in the individual topics, and I deleted the .js file that was also imported. For me, it was that simple.
