Hello all,
My flare project was originally imported from Word and it is littered with unnecessary span tags within all of the paragraphs. Sometimes between words, sometimes in the middle of words. Is there an easy way to find and delete them all within the text editor without having to manually find them all?
Thanks,
Andrea

Re: span tags
Easily, no. Possible, yes. Flare's find-and-replace can search on regular expressions, if you know how to compose them. I'd make a copy of the entire project before trying it, just to be on the safe side. You can Google how to compose regular expressions -- there are usually examples that you can use and just modify the tag to search on.

Re: span tags
Just to look at it from another direction, have you done any significant work with the imported files yet? If not, you may find it quicker to strip any character formatting or other formatting that results in spans from the Word document before running the import. Word's tools for selecting all instances of a style or format use are easier to use than setting up regular expressions. It may be more productive to discard the imported files, clean the Word doc, and reimport it than to try to clean the imported files directly.
Until next time....

Re: span tags
Kevin,
Thanks for the tip, but I am so far removed from the original Word import so there is no way I can do a re-import.
Lisa,
Thank you for the idea, I will research regular expressions as I have never heard that term before and see how that will work.
Thanks,
Andrea
