Blur effect change unused?
I use the Blur-Inside effect a lot, since all my screen caps have customer naming on them. I changed my one profile to set the blur factor from 6 to 20, but for some reason that factor does not get assigned to the properties of a new rectangle with Blur-inside assigned. Have I got the right setting changed?
Re: Blur effect change unused?
If you use the latest Flare 5 you can reapply the profile to all recurring instances of the blur inside rectangle.
otherwise by default, if you already have a blur inside rectangle applied to ascreenshot, and you change the settings in the capture profile, it won't be applied to the existing rectangle. the blur effect has to be reapplied or reset...something to this degree.
I use this effect from time to time as well...and I agree it is helpful.

Re: Blur effect change unused?
Hmm, I don't see anything in Flare v5 about re-applying the blur effect. I do see blur effects in Capture v5 and have updated the Profile in the View>Profiles>Image Effects>Blur Factor field. However, those settings do not get used in new rectangles I add. I still have to double-click the rectangle and then update the Image Effects>Blur Factor from 6 to 20. I do not see how to change that default from 6 to 20 permanently.
Further research indicates that I may need to apply the profile manually to each image I edit. There's a menu item and a little icon at the bottom of the editing window. If I have only one profile, though, it would be nice to just have the profile settings apply to each new image. For some reason they all get the outline and shadow settings, but not the blur effect? Not sure why that happens.
thanks!

Re: Blur effect change unused?
Rob in support pointed out that I could add the rectangle to the palette and it would retain the settings. That's sure easy! The palette is a very nice tool.

Apologies Roy. Its Capture 5 which I failed to refer to. All these product names and versions. I get all jumbled. yes, its in Capture 5.forfear wrote:If you use the latest Flare 5 you can reapply the profile to all recurring instances of the blur inside rectangle.

No worries, For! Flare/Capture/Analyzer/CSS is a learning adventure - in a good way.
