Hi,
As is customary, we have a master Flare project (with master page layouts, master pages, style sheets, etc.) on which all of our documentation projects are based. However, due to time constraints, several edits were made to a style sheet outside of the master, and I am now tasked with updating the master to match. Is there a way to do this that would alleviate my having to hunt for and replicate the differences between the two? Is it possible to simply copy the code from the newer style sheet and paste it into the master via the Internal Text Editor?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Updating style sheets using copy/paste
You should be able to do that -- open the stylesheets in the Internal Text Editor and copy the code from one and paste it in the other. Having said that, I haven't created any "master" projects in Flare, so examine its stylesheet first to see if Flare adds any special code to it to support the master project functionality. I don't think it would, at least not in the master. I'm assuming the child stylesheet has a reference link to the master stylesheet in it, so just make sure you don't copy and paste that back into the master, otherwise you will have created a loop in the stylesheet, which I don't think Flare or browsers will like. Although that's just speculation.

Thanks Lisa. Well, I will give this a shot and report the results.

Make backups of both stylesheets, just to be safe.

Re: Updating style sheets using copy/paste
For that matter, if they are essentially the same stylesheet with some additions added to the one, you could just replace the copy in the master location with the modified one. (Lisa's suggestion of making backups of both is still a best-practice, of course.)
Until next time....
