Sudden problems editing Alias files

Yesterday, Flare 5 decided to crash every time I tried to create or open an alias file in a project in which it previously worked. I tried another working project, and it also crashed. (Flare hangs as if it's trying to open the file, but then unceremoniously closes.)

Both projects were migrated from RH6 into Flare 4.2, but they worked fine before yesterday.

I've rebooted my PC, but no change in behavior. I'm hoping that I don't have something corrupted in my system. I have reinstalled Flare yet--I'm hoping someone here has the perfect fix before I get Tech Support involved.

Any help is appreciated.

Update: I started with a fresh copy of the MyAliasFile in my project. I could right-click and select Open With any of the 3 available editors. But if I selected Open from the right-click menu, Flare crashed again. It looks like I'll have to create the file by hand for now. Still open to other ideas!

You might need to reinstall the .NET platform. That sounds like the more likely culprit than Flare in this case.

UPDATE: Lisa, you are brilliant! Thanks! I installed .NET 3.5 again and it works now.
