Quality of Images

Post by Nina Esile »

I'm using a logo and other images in a Flare project that has PDF targets. Just not sure what the best format (tif, jpg, ???) for imported images. Any suggestions?

Also, wondering if it makes any difference where I resize images: in Flare or in the original app that created the images.

We tend to use png files for graphics, no hard and fast reason why except it works.

I always do as much preprocessing as possible before I insert the graphics, so I do my resizing in photoshop (or whatever you are using). That way I see the result before I insert the graphic and do not have to worry about image degragation caused by percentage resizing (compare an image resized to 93% to 90% to see what I mean).

Thanks. I've been using Photoshop and I guess I'll continue to do so.

One other question, though. I'm trying to put a black border, about 0.20", along the right side of some section pages (print output), and I've placed a Decoration Frame along the right edge, but can't, for the life of me get any color to fill it. Any pointers?
