OK, this should be a simple fix (?), but after digging into it, and speaking w/MC Support, I'm no wiser about how to achieve the result. Here's the deal...
I have a two-column index with spacing between entries and their associated pages that looks something like this (where SPACE represents the gap between the entry and the numbers way on the other side of the column):
Entry [SPACESPACESPACESPACE]5, 6
Entry1[SPACESPACESPACESPACESP]9
The numbers are snug with the right side of each column. However, what I'm looking for is a result like this:
Entry 5, 6
Entry1 9
I cannot find the style sheet (or other) setting that controls the space between entry and number. Or, maybe it's a case of creating a right-hand buffer for the entry and left-justifying the numbers - I don't know. I'm stumped; any ideas?

Index number spacing
Re: Index number spacing
no its not possible yet to create indexes the way you want yet. There is a workaround down. It involves a bit of digging into the actual index proxy stylesheet in the madcap.css file or something like that.
If i am not wrong, the MadCap devs are already looking into this.
you could however, export it to Word and regenerate the index to recreate the look you want.

If you submit your bug feedback request here, the more likely it'll get fixed or included in a future release

Thanks for this. I think we can live with the current index numbering for now - anything to avoid mucking around with Word.

Re: Index number spacing
I have the opposite problem in my PDF output. There's too much space between my index entry and the page number. What can I change to bring the page numbers closer to the index entry?
Thanks!
Joan
