Assigning custom page layouts

Post by Nina Esile »

I've designed some custom page layouts, but don't know how to assign them to TOC pages. The custom pages don't show up on the Printed Output tab of the Properties dialog. I can see the drop-down for Pate Type, but not for Page Name. Some of my pages may be of the same type, but are copies with custom elements and have different names.

I think this is a known bug, or at least a feature. It seems as if you can't have more than one page of the same type in the same layout, even if named.

See, for example: http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... =10&t=9598

As Lisa points out, why let you name pages if you can't refer to them by name?

Paul,

Thanks for pointing me to that link. I've found it rather challenging working with the page layouts. This was just one of the areas that caused some consternation. I really like that the tool allows single-sourcing, but its layout tools aren't up to speed just yet.

I'll keep trying and certainly learning.
