Page Layout, Decoration Frame, and Styles

Post by Nina Esile »

Several people helped me figure out yesterday that my stylesheet was interfering with applying and seeing color in a decoration frame of a page layout(http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... =10&t=9778). That was very helpful. It was also great creating a decoration frame and applying color late last night and actually seeing it appear.

So now, my question becomes this: what element of the stylesheet applies color to the foreground of a decoration frame?

Nothing in the main topic stylesheet will affect the frames themselves in a page layout -- the stylesheet will only affect the contents of the frames, whether the contents are text or images.

What do you want to be the foreground of the decoration frame? Text that you enter on the page layout, or a static image, or something else?

I was trying to create a small black border on the right side of the page. But, although the black would appear when I clicked and dragged the decoration frame around the page layout page AND it appeared in the tiny page on the right, it wouldn't show up on the page layout page itself or on the generated pages. When I traded out the stylesheet for a new one last night, it worked just fine.

I think I figured out the problem and the workaround. See the other post --> http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... 006#p56006
