Does Flare use Framemaker's table of contents or index

When importing a Framemaker book, does Flare use Framemaker's table of contents or index files? I'm using FM 9 and Flare 5.

Flare uses the FrameMaker TOC to create a TOC in Flare. Flare will look at the indents in the TOC to determine the TOC structure.
As for the index, Flare uses Index markers scattered throughout the text. You don't necessary need a generated index in your Frame book.
