Thanks for the suggestion. I couldn't see anything strange in the target, and tried with a brand-new target as well where I just set the TOC, M-page and stylesheet, and checked that the "Preserve" checkbox was cleared. Issue persists.
Will contact Flare.

Re: Track Changes Appearing in Web Output
I am also seeing this behaviour in Flare 2021. "Preserve tracked changes" is definitely cleared in the target. But when I build, I see both the original text, and any replacement/new text I have added. I see the same result when I preview. Did anyone find a resolution, or shall we assume t...

Re: Does Flare HTML5 Output Support 'GET Queries'?
I am assuming you mean you'd like to generate the content for different languages in Flare? Flare doesn't support queries in its generated URLs. Usually to achieve the result of different languages being available for the same content, you'd add a language element to the base URL. Eg: www.example.co...

Custom skins or SPAs using xhr/AJAX
I know this is a long shot, but has anyone seen any custom skins (or single-page apps that sit on top of madcap content) that load only the topic content? We use HTML SideNav, and the content load time is too slow, primarily because it reloads the whole page (top bar, table of contents) instead of o...

Re: Online help customisation
Searching across multiple sites is possible with something like Coveo, or similar multi-site search platforms. They're generally not cheap, (the ones that do seem cheap make up for it by being unbelievably difficult to get working properly). So that's option one: two separate sites with a combined s...

Re: shared glossary + individual glossary
You can set multiple definitions for a variable, and then select which definition to use on a target level in the publishing projects. So the Common project would contain a variable with all definitions of “action group” (productA, B and C) defined as multiple definitions (see: https://help.madcapso...

Re: Defining multiple dropdownBody styles
TIL you can select the tags with arrow keys--thanks! That will make things much easier. They accepted my feature request about making it either mouse-selectable or updating their help section on custom dropdown styles to reflect that both sections have to be manually styled, so we'll see what they d...

Re: Defining multiple dropdownBody styles
Good question: I was not adding the class in the source manually. The XML editor doesn't allow the body to be selected to apply a class, which implied (to me) that the software thinks it's not necessary to do so and will cascade naturally when you set the "entire" dropdown to the class. No...

Re: How do I change my SVN credentials?
Followup: Flare Support did actually get back to me (thank you, Outlook, for your interesting definitions of "junk mail"). From support: The SVN credentials are stored at the location specified below, if you delete the contents of this folder you should be prompted to re-enter your credent...

Re: Defining multiple dropdownBody styles
This is the CSS I have: MadCapDropDownCSS.png It obeys the CSS for the hotspot stuff, and adds the class correctly to the outer wrapper div of the dropdown. But both dropDown styles use the regular dropDown body: I get that background and border on both. Here is the result in the Chrome inspector: o...

Re: How do I change my SVN credentials?
For anyone else looking:
We ended up solving this by just changing the password on the old set of credentials in the SVN server. Flare prompted for new credentials when we tried to open a source-bound project, allowing us to put in our new credentials.

Defining multiple dropdownBody styles
So we've defined two dropdownbody styles, and we would like the body of the each dropdown style to have a different background colour (ie, the body of one is white, the body of the other is grey). I've defined the dropdown styles as needed. But I notice that the additional style only uses the defaul...

Re: How do I change my SVN credentials?
Thank you, but I don't think that's it--that shows where the project is bound to source control, but not what the credentials are. Additionally, when I relaunched Flare on a fresh reinstall (all registry and roaming data deleted), it did not know my license or my projects, and before I had even load...

How do I change my SVN credentials?
I'm not holding out much hope here, seeing as the similar question on Git went largely unanswered, but: I need to change the credentials Flare uses to log into SVN. When I started at my client's company, there was a SNAFU with the credentials, and a few of us wound up using the same credentials &quo...

Re: Anyone use Swagger and Flare to create API documentation
Could you explain further what you're trying to do? Swagger/OpenAPI generally IS an API documentation as far as devs are concerned. It lists all the operations, the requirements of each, and can contain comments/description for using each--everything you need to use the API, provided you know how to...

Re: Relationship proxy only displaying one column
I see - thanks for your reply. I think I've finally gotten the Collection / Linking aspects! Flare's explanations and interface for this feature never really clicked in my head before. All I wanted was two separate lists of related topics on each topic; one for related tasks and the other for relate...

Relationship proxy only displaying one column
Apologies if this is a PEBKAC issue, but I can't figure this out. I have a relationship table with two columns (concept and screen). "concept" has a CSS heading of "Related Tasks" (I was too lazy to change the column name) and "screen" has a CSS heading of "Related...

Inc/Exclude Capture's conditions per-topic like snippets?
I am currently doing a screenshot overhaul of a large project. There are a lot of images where the screencapped image is identical, the only difference is an object (a highlighting rectangle) is in a different position. I am facing the prospect of having to re-create all of these individually, which...
