Re: Auto-numbering and Appendices
There's nothing wrong with the numbering in my appendices. We use the auto-numbering format CH:Appendix {chapnum} and then we use alphabetical characters so we have Appendix A, etc. However, one of my colleagues pointed out that in our Help files, users are not able to search for the term appendix. ...

Re: Auto numbering not working
I have a situation where auto-numbering is being ignored. In the TOC, I've set it up so the chapter and section numbers increment. So it should go: 1 1.1 1.2 etc. Instead it just increments each section as shown in the screenshot. In this same document, the page layout command is also being ignored....

controlling alignment in TOC
This is how my TOC looks - with the heading aligned left and the underline and entries aligned right. I've looked at the style for the TOC header and I don't see anything that's controlling it. I know this is probably a basic question, but Is there a way to align everything to the left?

Re: N00b question: H1 causes pagination @ PDF: change this?
I am seeing this issue also. Every heading starts on a new page. I checked the page break attribute in the style sheet and I don't have any setting applied for it. How can I fix this?

Re: "This file is not an XML file"
Thanks as always for the good information. I searched for non-XML topics, and no other topics were listed. Hopefully, this was just some kind of anomaly, but if it does happen again, at least I know what to do.

"This file is not an XML file"
I've had this happen twice today. I open an existing file that has been used in a number of our documents, and I receive the attached message. I feel completely stuck with this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Search weirdness
I have some search weirdness of my own. The document has Appendices A through E. All appear in the contents on the side panel. However, only a search for Appendix A yields any results. So, if I enter Appendix A in the search, it shows Appendix A as a result. If I enter Appendix D in the search field...

Re: Side Nav skin & Previous/Next Topic
Is there a way to fix the position of the Previous and Next Topic buttons so they are above the heading (or above the body text) instead of below the body text?

Re: Error: "Build Failed: The directory is not empty"
Try something, then. Open up your OneDrive tray app and tell it to pause syncing. THen see if you can build in Flare. The first thing that Flare does when you instrust it to build is to delete whatever was in the Output folder from the last prior build. I think because your project is in a OneDrive...

Re: Error: "Build Failed: The directory is not empty"
I appreciate your response. You're correct. My files are on OneDrive. I closed everything and tried to delete the Temporary folder with no success.

Re: Error: "Build Failed: The directory is not empty"
Here's a twist to the whole situation. I was able to delete the project output folder. However, there is something in the Temporary folder that I can't delete, and I wonder if this is what's preventing me from building the book. Is this a possibility?

Re: Error: "Build Failed: The directory is not empty"
Hi folks We are running Flare 2017 and are seeing this bug a lot. I found that if I use Windows to delete the Output folder entirely, it fixes the problem, albeit temporarily. I have tried the Clean Project command too, but it cannot delete everything for some reason. It appears that the same files...

When I select the target, then select Open Output Folder, this is the path. C:\Users\garyschx\OneDrive - Intel Corporation\MCF-Unite\Output\garyschx\Deployment-Guide-Enterprise

Re: Error: "Build Failed: The directory is not empty"
I keep getting this message when I try to build a book. The error points to a directory that doesn't exist. I have tried every suggestion in this thread, and still the build fails. How do I get around this?

Re: How do I get paragraphs to follow the indention of Headi
This is driving me nuts. There is no way that something as simple as indentation of a style should be so difficult. I have an ordered list, but I want to create a style called stepresult. I want it to align with the text (not the number) of the previous step, and I don't need this particular item nu...

Re: Auto-numbering and Appendices
h1.Appendix still displays Appendix 1. Each subsequent h2.Appendix now displays 1.1 despite the instruction to reset to 1 Alpha in the TOC properties.

Re: Auto-numbering and Appendices
I have no idea why chapnum doesn't work. I'm a contractor that's new to this company, so I don't know the ins and outs of the documentation. I followed your instructions (page break, reset to 1 ALPHA). I even deleted the auto-numbering for h2.Appendix and h3.Appendix. Now my h1.Appendix shows Append...

Re: Auto-numbering and Appendices
I have an appendix numbering issue that is making me crazy. I tried the aforementioned method with chapnum, and it didn't work for me. Here's what I have. h1.Appendix1: mc-auto-number-format: 'GN:Appendix {A+}{ =0}: ' ; h2.Appendix2: mc-auto-number-format: 'GN:{A}.{n+}{ =0}: '; However, when I go to...
