My developers have started to use Visio and we want these diagrams in our MadCap projects.
I managed to figure out that if we save the Visio document into *.svg format, I can use them as topics and then look at them in Image Viewer in Flare.
But when I want to generat a PDF output, I get this Error:
File can not be generated to PDF output. Why?
What to I have to do to make it work?
*.svg format can not be generated to PDF output?

Re: *.svg format can not be generated to PDF output?
Are you generating the PDF output from the Flare GUI, or are you trying to use the madbuild feature or whatever it's called? It was reported in another post that in order to build outputs that include .svg files via madbuild that you'd need the Java Runtime Environment 6.0.15 or later installed, but I thought that same poster said he was able to build via the Flare GUI fine.

Re: *.svg format can not be generated to PDF output?
Yes, I'm generating it from MyPDFOutput and have choosen PDF as output.
I had done wrong, I had use the *.svg file as a topic insead of using it IN a topic.
So when I insert the *.svg file in the topic as a "normal" image it work just fine.
Thank you very much for your answer! It made me think another way.

Re: *.svg format can not be generated to PDF output?
I am not able to include .svg files (generated from Visio) for images in my pdfs. When I build the document the error log tells me "Error processing SVG file". They show up fine in the Flare xml editor, just don't appear in my pdf! I have updated Java to the latest 7.0.400 but still no joy. The .svg files look so sharp in the editor I would love to keep that in my pdfs, but it is back to .png files for me.

I don't know why this happens for you.
But I save the *.svg under Images and then I insert them as I usually do with *.jpeg into the topic. That worked just fine for me.
I also have the *vsd file (original file from Visio) saved under Images. I don't know if that could make the difference?
I have the same Java version as you.
I'm sorry that I can't help you. I hope that someone else will be able to.

I make svg from powerpoint images. Does not work for me either... it's a shame as the pngs (screen shots) come out terrible quality when imported to flare
