Simultaneous voice and music?

Post by Mr Tagomi »

I am trying to create a tutorial with voice and background music.

Each frame is associated with a sound file containing speech, and then the whole movie is associated with the music file.

But I find that even though this previews correctly, when I generate my Flash output, only one or the other will play.

i.e. The movie will contain only voice or only music.

Anyone have any idea why this is, and what to do about it?

One way would be to use a sound mixer and make the voice and music into one file. Some care needs to be taken to make sure the voice is played at the right times.

Thanks, Ramon.

Does this mean that Mimic is actually designed not to have simultaneous movie and frame audio?

I don't know if it was designed that way. I never came across such a problem, because I never tried it. Mixing the files externally is just one alternative. Did you try other output types? Maybe it is a Flash issue.

I've actually just realised that the music and voice play simultaneously in the third of my four movies in the project, but not in the others.

So it can work. There must be some peculiarity in the way I applied the sound files.

If I figure it out I'll report it here.
