Applying formatting when doing Find and Replace

Post by Karina »

Does anyone know how to apply a superscript format when doing a Find and Replace?

i.e Find 'SystemName2' and replace the '2' with a superscript 2

I can use the text editor's Superscript button to manually update each time, but I want a faster method.

Any suggestions appreciated.

In a topic somewhere safe, insert the thing you want to change it to and then change to text editor to see exactly what you need to put in your "Change to" box. When doing your search and replace, check the "find in source code" checkbox.

I find it very helpful to have a "test topic" topic to play with, which I have given a condition that I exclude from every output.

You'd want to do a search on SystemName2 and replace it with SystemName2. Make you have the option "Find in source code" enabled, otherwise you'll see SystemName2 in your content pages instead of SystemName².

And you may have to play around with the attributes of in your stylesheet to get the effect you want.
