Hi there,
Not sure what the source is, but my flare output has incredibly long URLs for each page, way past what's relevant. For example, if I have a topic called This Is My Topic with a filename of file.htm, I get this:
http://www.name.com/public/path/#topic/ ... c%7C_____1
This URL is only necessary up to the .htm, yet I get all this extra nonsense after it. So people are copying and pasting around these long, ugly filenames to refer people to pages, and it's just not very succinct.
Anybody know what is causing this, and if there's a way I can clip this?
Thanks!

Re: Extremely long Flare URLs
Hi mymojo
There is a solution to "cut" the URL. It is described in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16751&start=25

Re: Extremely long Flare URLs
There is a matter to the madness, I try to explain.
http:// - protocol prefix
www.name.com - domain name of web server
/public/path/#topic/file.htm - path to start file (which is not the topic file, means the relevant part does not end at .htm)
%3FTocPath%3Dtopic%7Cthis%2520is%2520my%2520topic - name of topic to display by the script inside the start file
%7C_____1 - that one I do not know, but I assume it is a flag to indicate how to display the topic
As the other post shows, there are means to remove that and have prettier URLs, but it isn't that all of the stuff after .htm is irrelevant.
