Can a table row break across pages in pdf?
I have a Flare online help file that also must be a pdf. No problem there; thankfully this help file is fairly short. One of my topics has a table with a long row. This long row has another table imbedded inside it. My project looks great in the online help. The trouble is the pdf. In my pdf target ...

Difficulting drawing arrows
Is anyone else having a difficult time drawing arrows? I am having a terrible time with it. I want to draw very simple arrows. I'd be happy with straight arrows, though I suppose arrows that can turn would be ok. However, the arrows I'm drawing will not stay straight. They end up awkward and meander...

Re: context-sensitive help only works for initial topic
We used the latest SDK (I sent all that information to our technical arcitect. The analyzer only lists the following as a broken link: File: applicationhelp.flali Folder: Project/Advanced/ Link: file:///////////////// I just don't know what this means. I have checked my aliases, and all seem fine. A...

context-sensitive help only works for initial topic
My context-sensitive help is not working correctly. I have a dot net help project, with context-sensitive help. All my topics are linked to windows of our application. All seemed fine at first, but it isn't now. When I open our application and press F1 (or select Help from the menu), the first time,...

Re: "Output not up-to-date" immediately after build
I have having the same problem - every time I build my help project, then try to view it, I get a message saying the help isn't up to date and do I want to regenerate it? This is immeadiately after I built it. I have already cleaned the project, and I am directing the build to the output folder. I r...

Re: Change Background Color of Single Page in Topic
aah! Thanks for the tip. Actually it's working now, and after each build. The trouble is, I can't quite figure out what I did to make it work consistently. oh well, at least I can copy the one that works and figure it out if I need to.
Thanks for all the help,
K Nichols.

Re: Change Background Color of Single Page in Topic
Good suggestion. That was one of the first things I tried. Then I tried hard-coding the change into the topic itself. Then I added !important. Nothing works. (In a fit of desperation, I have left all three of these still in the project. I don't know why I do since none of them work.) Here's the stra...

The change you recommended did not work either - putting the background color in the body tag of the master page.

Re: Change Background Color of Single Page in Topic
Listen, anyone who is even bothering to still reply to my problem is a heroine/hero in my book. I am thoroughly sick of it and it's my issue! Yes, some of the text was hard-coded white in this topic. I was not trying to add to the general confusion; I just chose not to create a style for the white t...

Re: Change Background Color of Single Page in Topic
Sorry, I'm being unclear. When I said "default," I meant the background color that I have in my project stylesheet's body tag - the background color that all the other topics display. This is light green. I have one topic that I have set to use a different background color - gray instead o...

Re: Change Background Color of Single Page in Topic
I forgot to say, the gray background is the color the background is supposed to be - and the color the unformatted topic is. The formatted help displays the background as the default color, a light green. So it seems that your file is working, but mine is running into some code that makes the topic ...

Re: Change Background Color of Single Page in Topic
Hi, I'm seeing the colors on the unformatted topics, but when I format the topic, the built help shows the default screen color, the one for the entire help project, not the one I set in the master page (which is the same as the color I set again in the topic itself - hoping that would work.) The wh...

Re: Change Background Color of Single Page in Topic
Sorry about the color tags - I accidently added those when I was trying to make the text on this posting a different color - they are not in the actual code. Here is the code for the topic - as you can see I have tried to change the colors in the stlesheet, masterpage, and then hard-coded the new co...

Re: Change Background Color of Single Page in Topic
Hm.... I'm not entirely sure (forgive my ignorance). Here is the code that displays when I ask for source on the topic's page in help - it does seem to refer to the topic first, then the skin - but doesn't mention madcap.css. Am I looking in the right place? <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD X...

Re: Change Background Color of Single Page in Topic

Strange error with my imported master pages
I am getting the strangest error. I imported 3 master pages from one Flare project to another. I also imported a new skin and started using it. Now, when iI compile, I am getting numerous errors saying my madcap.css file (in my output folder) is calling a master page in the old flare project, the on...

Re: Can't change index color
Strange - I went back to the original version of the skin - before I changed the background color to grey. The original version didn't have the index in bright blue - the index was light teal - which is acceptable. I have no idea how I changed it to blue though - I certainly didn't intend to when I ...

Re: Can't change index color
Thank you for the info - I bet you are right on the index in the style sheet only being for the printed output. Unfortunately, I have already tried changing the index text in the skin - none of my attempts worked.
thanks for trying though,
K Nichols

Can't change index color
Hi, I'm using the Flare midnight small skin, (midnight2sm), and cannot get the index entries to display in any other color than screamingly bright royal blue. The color is truly hideous, especially since it's against a dark grey background (I changed the black background to grey.) I have checked my ...

I need to know as well - can you rotate in capture? I have searched the help and can't find a topic so I'm guessing you cannot rotate in capture.
