Re: How can I customize an <xref> output?
Ah, OK, since you had referred to it as an "attribute" I was looking in the Attributes Window where there is a setting for "title". I've never done anything in that window. I will try doing it in the file Properties window. Thanks very much doc_guy!

Re: How can I customize an <xref> output?
If you always want to have the text "Blahdey Blah" and never "Blahdey Blah Performance Test" you could use the title attribute. (Sorry, I'm tardy in getting back to my post to check for replies.) doc_guy, I'm not familiar with using attributes. How would I go about using that fe...

Re: How can I customize an <xref> output?
Just looking at it from a different direction, do you HAVE to have "Performance Test" in the headings for each of those items? Yes, unfortunately those titles do need to include the text "Performance Text" in them because there are instances where there is the same name but as a...

Re: How can I customize an <xref> output?
By design, the text of cross-references' text is meant not to be edited. Rather, when it builds output, Flare will use the first heading in a destination topic as a cross-reference's text. The only thing you can change about cross-references is their format. Thanks, Nita. I was afraid of that. I re...

How can I customize an <xref> output?
I want to know if there is a way to modify the text of a cross-reference. I am using Flare 2019 and my output is WebHelp and HTML/chm. BTW, I know I can use an <href> to achieve what I want, but I want the updating features that <xref>s offer and <href>s don't. Here is my scenario: I have a top-leve...

Best practice: New PC and existing projects bound to TFS
I'll be getting a new laptop soon and want to know how this will affect my existing (24) Flare Projects that are bound to Team Foundation source control. I'm using Flare 2017 and Visual Studio 2010. I am a single author and I don't use any global project files. What is the best practice when I get m...

Re: How to not indent a list
Just to follow up....I adjusted the left-margin to be negative-half of the default value rather than matching it which made the number not visible. This worked perfectly!

How to not indent a list
When creating a numbered list, Flare automatically indents it. I have a situation where I don't want the list to be indented.
How would I go about creating a style class to not indent the list?

Re: Flare 10 and CHM formatting issues
I've also noticed the border missing in the content pane. The white background of the content pane extends too far at the top covering the bottom border of the toolbar. Does not look good.

Re: Flare automagically adding files to TFS
I noticed this as well having just upgraded to V9 recently. I prefer to add files to source control at the end of the project, and there are certain files that I do not want ever to be added to source control. I wonder if there is a user setting to opt out of this feature? Think I'll submit a reques...

Re: TOC Panel Issue with IE 10
I too am having the same problem with IE 10 (I'm using Flare V7). I added the meta tag as instructed to the three files. The TOC behaved properly except that once a topic link in the TOC is clicked, it remains highlighted as if it's the active topic. The highlight should "turn off" once an...

Re: Help window shrinks when compiled on build server
I was running into this problem as well with Flare V7. I've some-what narrowed it down to when the file is compiled and published using the Batch Target rather than the html-specific Target. Since I'm not sure exactly where the bug is, this is what I do and it works: > Start with a "fresh"...

Thanks for the tip! I was able to adjust the spacing between my bullet list and the preceeding sentence by changing the margin setting rather than the padding.

Padding vs Margins...difference?
General question: What is the difference between padding and margins in the stylesheet editor? I never know which one to change.

Re: Table Borders dropping out in CHM output; WebHelp is OK
Well I've solved my own problem! And it was embarassingly easy I must admit  . Since my problem only appeared in the final CHM output, I was focusing my attention there. My solution ended up being basic formatting. Within the table and table-cell properties dialog boxes, I had left the color o...

Table Borders dropping out in CHM output; WebHelp is OK
The borders (both outer and within the table) are dropping out in the CHM output. WebHelp is OK. What's funny is that it looks perfect when I preview the single topic within Flare. It's only in the final CHM output that the table borders drop out. I can barely see them on the screen. They're extreme...

Re: How to create Table Stylesheet using existing table
Just use Windows Explorer to copy the table stylesheet file into the appropriate Resources sub-folder in the new project. Sorry, should have stated that I don't have a Table Stylesheet. I have a table whose style I like that is in another topic. What I want to know is if there is a way to create a ...

How to create Table Stylesheet using existing table
I have a table from another Flare project that is the style I'd like to use in my current project. Is there a way to create a Table Stylesheet using an existing table? I'm using Flare V7.
