Breadcrumb proxy does not work in global project linking
I'm using global project linking in Flare 7 (import files containing language- and non-language specific criteria). I've updated the skin file in my language-specific project "Du är här" in Swedish as shown below. The master.flmsp is also in the same project, using the breadcrumb proxy. ...

Re: Displaying a topic within another topic
Snippets are great! You can use them as a "source" to link from if you need the same text block on several places in your documentation, for example, note, copyright message... If you need to update the snippet, you only have to do it from one place, Flare will ask if you want to update th...

Re: How to get rid of annoying security message
Thank you Rhollinger It is true, the annoying messages started to show after removing the arrows for glossary links (in the FLSKN file). So I will try out to put a single-pixled image there instead, and see if can get rid of this security message.

Re: WebHelp skin: style to hover/select topic in navigation pane
Thank you people for trying to help me! I finally received an answer from the MadCap support saying: Make sure that the option "Condense Javascript files" is cleared in the Target (Open the Target, select the Performance tab). Then follow the steps from the KB article. Now I could change t...

Re: WebHelp skin: style to hover/select topic in navigation pane
Thank you LTinker68 for your reply! The instruction was very clear to me, but unfortunately it did not work. After changing the color hex codes in the MadCapToc.js file, the hover color for the hyperlink and the background color for the selected TOC entry are still unchanged

Re: Nav elements at top of pane instead of bottom?
I have not tried it myself, but I guess that it will work if you open your Flare project, and select Project > the FLSKN file used > WebHelp Setup > Topic Settings (below). Select Show navigation link at top... See image attached (from Flare 7, but I think it is the same for Flare 6). Try it, but as...

WebHelp skin: style to hover/select topic in navigation pane
Hi, I am trying to make some changes to our web help skin FLSKN file in Flare 7, see the attached image how it looks today. I want to change the style on hovering and selecting a topic in the left navigation pane as follows: Orange #ffa500 background color instead of light grey Black font color on t...

Re: Global Linking Existing Projects
Try the Import file option, it works fine in Flare 6 and 7! Briefly the work procedure is as follows: 1. Create a global/master project. It is here you store the templates, for example, style sheet, glossary, master pages, variables, snippets, to apply on the other projects. 2. Open the project wher...

Re: Strategies for multiple authors with no source control
We are 2 TW:s working with documentation at my company, and we used TFS 2010 before for our doc check-ins. But with TFS we could not use the global project linking. So now I am testing global project linking with our projects on a file server without any source control. It works really fine in Flare...

How to get rid of annoying security message
Hi, I'm working in Flare V6 and using project linking, in other words, linking to snippets, master page, glossary and more to a master project. (I want to reuse objects instead of having the same things in several projects.) I get the following security message when I've generated the web help (see ...

I have received the following brief answer from MadCap support, but unfortunately their solution did not work for me :? : The issue have been tracked to Windows Media Encoder in Windows 7. Check if you have the the following versions on your computer: - Windows 7 32-bit - Version 9.0.0.2980 of WMEnc...

Re: Mimic 5 stops working
I also experience the same problem as you BillD, and get the same error message. It seems like the whole application crashes when you click the Record button in the recording frame.
